Directions

The religious ceremony and most activities will be centered around Old Montreal, which is a ~25min drive from the Pierre-Elliott Trudeau International Airport.

Public Transit

We recommend you take a taxi from the airport to your hotel. Buses can take up to an hour to make it from the airport to Old Montreal. Once you're in Old Montreal, you'll be able to walk or take the Metro anywhere you may want to go. Uber works in Montreal too.

Driving

If you choose to drive, please know that finding parking in Old Montreal or Downtown Montreal can be difficult and/or expensive. If you do drive, we recommend http://www.bestparking.com to help you find parking options around the city.

We have rooms blocked for our wedding guests at the Westin Hotel in Old Montreal, which is only 2 blocks away from the Notre Dame Basilica. However, we have seen that it is possible to find rooms at better rates around the area, by going into Priceline, Expedia or Airbnb. Below are the instructions on how to get the group rate for the Westin and a list of suggestions for nearby hotels with good reviews. We have stayed at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott and it is great and conveniently located.

We know many of you are coming from far away, so we want to make sure that you get to enjoy the wedding but also that you make the most out of your trip. Below are a few good places to eat, places to see, and some ideas if you want to venture out of the city.

Or follow our favorite activity: stroll around Old Montreal and find a nice patisserie for dessert and coffee.

Eat

When in Quebec, it's pretty hard to go wrong with Quebecois or French food. Here are a couple spots we tried and loved:

* Au Pied De Cochon (Reserve well ahead!).
* Modavie.
* Vieux-Port Steakhouse.
* L'Auberge Saint Gabriel.
* Schwartz Deli (not a really a restaurant but they have the best Deli sandwiches).

Places to see

* Visit Mont Royal - nice views of the whole city.
* Check out some of the local food markets and maybe grab lunch there. Two big markets are Marché Jean Talon and Marché Atwater.
* The Notre Dame Basilica - The wedding will be  next door, but we recommend a visit!
* Explore the waterfront at the Old Port.
* Stay tuned! - We'll keep an eye on Montreal activities and we'll add them here as we get closer to the wedding date.

Venture beyond Montreal

If you have enough of Montreal, there are a number of good options within a couple hours drive:

* Visit a sugar shack.
* Explore the wine route just south of Montreal.
* Visit a National Park - They are free in 2017 in commemoration of Canada's 150th anniversary.
* If you don't mind driving a couple hours, check out Ottawa or Quebec City.
